Diego

DIEGO IS THE OLDEST OF SIX SIBLINGS, AND HAS ALWAYS PUT HIS FAMILY FIRST. HE GREW UP IN JUAREZ, MOVED TO EL PASO WHEN HE WAS SIX, AND THEN TO COLORADO WHEN HE WAS 18. IT WAS HERE THAT HE TOOK A NEW JOB AS A BLIND MAN'S PERSONAL DRIVER, AND FIRST CROSSED PATHS WITH DUKE WAVERLY. WHEN TRAGEDY STRUCK HIS FAMILY, DIEGO STEPPED UP AS THE GUARDIAN OF HIS FIVE SIBLINGS AND HELPED THEM GROW THROUGH THEIR FORMATIVE YEARS. DIEGO EVENTUALLY MARRIED AND RAISED HIS OWN FAMILY, BUT THE MUSIC OF HIS CULTURE NEVER LEFT HIM. FROM A YOUNG AGE, HE WOULD TRAVEL AROUND WITH HIS UNCLE, A MUSICIAN, PLAYING AT LOCAL MARKETS AND BUS STATIONS. DIEGO DABBLED WITH DRUMS, GUITAR, AND IN HIS 40'S TOOK HIS FIRST VOICE LESSONS, EXPLORING THE FULL RANGE AND POWER OF HIS PRIMARY INSTRUMENT. DESPITE INCREDIBLE RAW TALENT, DIEGO HAS KEPT HIS MUSIC CLOSE TO HOME, PERFORMING LOCALLY, FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY, AND NEVER SEEKING FAME. MAYE SOMEDAY, YOU'LL BE LUCKY ENOUGH TO CATCH A LIVE PERFORMANCE OF DIEGO, THE MARIACHI SINGER.
